Barracuda brings the music of Heart to life with a style and presence that will amaze you. Lead vocalist Donna Caruk is simply outstanding as she belts out Anne Wilson’s vocals to perfection. She has assembled a band of world-class musicians who skilfully master the subtle nuances of this great band’s music. The White Rock Tam O’Shanter Dancers are hosting their 19th annual Robert Burns Dinner and Dance this Saturday, Jan. 26th at 5.30pm at Star of the Sea Hall, 15262 Pacific Ave in South Surrey.

This year, the celebration’s theme is Burns: A National Symbol. The evening will include a traditional Burns supper, entertainment and ceilidh dancing.

Robbert Burns was a Scottish poet and lyricist. He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide.

The goal of the Tam O’ Shanter Dancers is to promote Scottish Country Dancing by presenting demonstrations at local and international social and cultural events.

This sounds like fun!

Calypso Hut Dance Society are holding a CARIBBEAN NEW YEARS 2013 at White Rock’s Elgin Hall. There’ll be a dinner and dance with entertainment provided by DJ Carl Sound Vibes and DJ Kenyon.

It all kicks off at 6pm with cocktails, followed by a delicious dinner at 7pm. Then put on your dancing shoes and enjoy the best Soca and Reggae music around.

For those that don’t know – Soca is the beat “Soul Calypso” which started with the mixing of East Indian Rhythms and traditional rhythms of Trinidad & Tobabo, accompanied with a pulsating beat. It’s guaranteed to get you on the dance floor!

There’ll be prizes and surprises, champagne at midnight, and – of course – legendary rum punch and Caribbean Christmas cake!

White Rock Christmas Sail Past takes place December 8th

Calling all yachties, boat lovers, and Christmas celebrationists alike! This Saturday, December 8th is the annual White Rock Christmas Sail Past.

Starting at dusk, enjoy a beautiful display of Christmas lights on the boats as they sail past the pier.

This is a great annual tradition that is organized by the International Yacht Club of B.C.. For the best view point, stand at the end of the White Rock Pier.

All boat owners are invited to take part – all you have to do is decorate your boat and turn up! There’ll be hot chili at the Blaine Boating Center afterwards.
